Dr. Grove is well known to water professionals for her
solid contributions to the development of professional training and certification
programs for the water industry. Also, as a consultant to industry, Dr. Grove
has helped industry associations and companies with the development of technical
training programs and materials.
Her career in the field of technical education for the water industry includes
over five years as Director of Education for the American Supply Association (ASA),
the association for plumbing wholesalers, and over nine years as Director of Education
at the United States Water Quality Association (WQA), the association for the
water treatment industry.
At ASA, she administered the association’s self-study training program and
authored course workbooks on water pumps, steel pipe, hydronic heating and residential
water processing. At WQA, Dr. Grove administered the association’s professional
certification program, including the administration of coursework and materials.
She was responsible for the educational programs at annual WQA conventions and
for WQA workshops and seminars.
With the assistance of the U.S. EPA and the Education Committee of the U.S. Water
Quality Association (WQA), she created a new certification program for operators
of small drinking water systems, which became the fourth certification to be offered
by the WQA.. Dr. Grove has edited books, written technical scripts and produced
video-based courses on water treatment.
She holds a B.A. in History from MacMurray College, a M.A. in Library Science
(MALS) from Dominican University, a doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Adult and Continuing
Education from Northern Illinois University, and the Certified Association Executive
(CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives.
